How to Fix an I/O Error

Basically, I/O means Input/Output. We often get I/O(input & output) error, between transferring data and other resources from our computer device to external storage devices. When your computer device faces any I/O Error during reading or writes operation, you will get an Error message. We call this massage as I/O Error messages. You may get many kinds of I/O Error message in the different situation. Those I/O Error Massages are,

  • The only part of a readprocessmemory or write process memory request was completed.
  • I/O Error codes: error 6, error 21, error 103, error 105, error 131
  • The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

What is The Reason for I/O Error?

As we said, your computer gets an I/O Error during a read or write operation with the external storage device. There are lots more different reasons for an I/O Error. Those could be,

  • Your Windows computer is trying to use a special transfer mode, that is not suitable for the external storage device.
  • Your hardware device may get run-down.
  • The external memory device may not adaptable with your computer device.

1. Connect your cables correctly

4. Check the status of the device

The device you are using may get any hardware or software issue. You can check it by going into the Device Manager of your windows computer device. Find your external memory device/drive and select it. Usually, Device Manager will detect the problem and help you to solve this problem.

5. Contact with your hardware manufacturer

As the last way, you can contact the hardware manufacturer. You can look for a solution or driver update for your external hardware device.
